Programs & Facilitation
Research shows that when adults are active participants in a learning experience, they are much more likely to retain new knowledge and apply it to their work. Our goal for our programs and facilitation is to create learning experiences that are tailored to your objectives and organizational context, with a good blend of activities to meet the needs of various learning styles in the room. Participants will leave feeling more empowered, more connected and more prepared to deliver results, helping to transform your culture because of healthier relationships, enhanced communication and transformed people and teams. Check out our specific programs and let’s discuss customized options that fit your needs!
Building Advantage Teams™
Teams are an essential component of any organization’s success. Their potential to accomplish great things cannot be ignored…nor can their ability to derail progress. They not only impact the bottom line, but they influence organizational culture in significant ways. Further, teams are extremely complex because of the unique styles, preferences, goals, habits and motivations that each person brings to the table. Therefore, investing in them is necessary to ensure coherence and effectiveness.
Advantage Team Building™ is an engaging process that revolves around discovery, learning, trust building, commitment and action, with three key progressive steps:
Awareness – The first step is to bring greater awareness to behavioral styles and the preferences, motivations and stressors that people bring to the workplace every day. Understanding one’s style is essential for being a more flexible, adaptable and responsive teammate, but developing a strong awareness and appreciation of different styles is just as critical for working with others.
Appreciation – When teammates move from awareness to appreciation they are able to develop more trust, communicate more effectively, establish common goals and better understand the roles they play on a team. Appreciation requires vulnerability, empathy and understanding, but will lead to an overall healthier team culture and workplace environment.
Action – Teams should feel empowered to lead and manage their own learning and behavior. After gaining awareness and appreciating the uniqueness of its members, teams can commit to action that is focused, results-oriented and benefits from the team’s strengths while minimizing limitations.
The Five Behaviors
The Five Behaviors program is a one-of-a-kind facilitated learning experience that is constructed for intact work teams – giving them time, space and know-how to work on building a truly cohesive and effective team. This is accomplished by applying the proven and competitive team model that is built around five root behaviors: Trust, Conflict, Commitment, Accountability and Results. Together, we will examine and discover what it looks like for your team to:
TRUST One Another
When team members are genuinely transparent and honest with one another, they are able to build vulnerability-based trust.
Engage in Productive CONFLICT Around Ideas
When there is trust, team members are able to engage in unfiltered, constructive debate of ideas.
COMMIT to Decisions
When team members are able to offer opinions and debate ideas, they will be more likely to commit to decisions and action plans.
Hold One Another ACCOUNTABLE
When everyone is committed to a clear plan of action, they will be more willing to hold one another accountable.
Focus on Achieving Collective RESULTS
The ultimate goal of building greater trust, mastering conflict, gaining commitment and embracing accountability is one thing: the achievement of collective results.
This program includes a detailed and personalized individual assessment along with team results based on the five root behaviors. The report covers both the individual and team perspectives – helping to draw attention to team dynamics, including its culture, by focusing on areas of strengths and challenges, adapting to different behavioral styles and specific action plans based on the report results.
The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team™ program is delivered in-person, preferably off-site and is available in either one full day (8.5 hours) or three full days. To gage areas of improvement and discover where team challenges may need continued work, we recommend that we come together again for a day long progress check-in approximately 6-9 months following the last session.
